Starlight, Star Bright

Recipe for "Starlight Mint Surprise Cookies" -

Bake 375 degrees 10-12 minutes
Makes 4 1/2 dozen

Sift:

3 c flour
1 t soda
1/2 t salt

Cream:

1 c butter
1 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar

Blend in:

2 eggs
2 T water

(Yes, I realize there's no mint to be found. Reader Andrea points us in this direction:

This recipe is basically the same, except "you wrap the dough around a piece of minty chocolate and stick a walnut on top."

    Has to be! Nothing in the recipe to give you that mint taste unless you are suppose to eat a mint before the cookie. :)

  3. This reminds me of that pie that tastes like apple pie, even though the filling is made out of crackers, sugar and lemon juice– no apples.
