With Friends Like These

Greeting card, "Angela" written on front, inside is this terrific note:

Aside from the fact you are fantastically illiterate - and sinisterly uneducated, I got this to keep you off the streets while my back is turned.

Fabulously (?)

Found in "Oliver Twist" by Charles Dickens. Published by The Heritage Press, 1939.

  1. Fabulously Yours?

Thanks for sharing this - I love it!

  2. Perhaps Frabjously Yours, in reference to Jabberwocky?

  3. I think the writer actually was saying "frabjously yours" referring to a line from Lewis Carroll's Jaberwocky :
" O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay". A quirky reference in a wonderfully intimate and quirky note. Thanks for posting it.

  4. Frabjously yours, as in "O frabjous day, callooh, callay", from "Jabberwocky" by Lewis Carroll

  5. Frabjously yours no question! And I'm going to be laughing about this one all day! Thank you!

  6. "fantastically illiterate - and sinisterly uneducated" I LOVE it!! I hope some author puts it into a book! Thank so much for sharing.
