Celebrating the life of Maurice Sendak - here are three books that feature his work.

"I Saw Esau: The Schoolchild's Pocket Book" by Iona and Peter Opie, illustrations by Sendak, 1992.

"The Bat Poet" by Randall Jarrell, illustrations by Sendak, 1966.

"Many Long Years Ago" by Ogden Nash, first edition, jacket design by Sendak, 1945.

  19. I love Ogden Nash. I have a collection of his animal poems. (I don't know the others, but I always love a new introduction.)

  46. I received a set of Little Bear books from an aunt who lived in Switzerland when i was a little girl. They were my favorite, read over and over. Then read over and over to my girls now both grown. I feel like I've lost a close friend. RIP Maurice.
