The Boys

Typed letter, dated October 6th, 1897, on Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company stationery:

Charles Hamilton Jr.
West Walnut Lane
Germantown
Philadelphia

Dear Sir,

I regret very much that I will not be able to be with you on Saturday, but as I have another engagement for that evening it will be impossible for me to come.

I hope you will win all their money and illustrate to the boys that they know nothing about the game whatever.

Hoping to see you again soon in the near future,

I remain,
Yours truly,

Francis W. Slaughter

  1. I wish email replies were this grand! Ah well, I suppose nothing will ever replace a handwritten--or dictated--letter. :)
