An X-ercise In Typing

A sailboat made of Xs, my guess is that it was typed up as a school assignment for keyboarding class or something similar.

Found in "Japanese Garden and Floral Art" by Mrs. Paul Kincaid. Published by Hearthside, 1966.

  1. Ah! What a lovely typing exercise that must have been. :)

  2. I remember doing a similar exercise or two in my Jr. High typing class. Each student was given a sheet of written directions, which, if followed correctly, would result in a specific picture. Not all students got the same picture.

As I recall, it was at about this time of year. My teacher referred to the exercise as a mid-term warmup. :)

  3. When I was a kid, my dad would take me to his office and his secretary would set me to work on "typewriter pictures." It is a very fond memory.

  4. I made a typewriter picture of Blondie's Deborah Harry back in her heyday, which I still have (the picture, not the typewriter). I started, but never finished, one of Queen's Freddie Mercury.

  7. It looks like it would make a nice cross-stitch template.
