Anything But 'Free Bird'

I decided to take some requests this morning. What are you all in the mood for? Photos? A letter? Old postcard? Baseball card?

Let me know in the comments, I will try and get to as many as I can.

  1. I find old postcards fascinating. Or how about defunct or regional candy bar wrappers? Do you ever find anything like that?
    I love your blog.

  3. Norrin - here's the Ivory soap wrapper. According to my note, I found it in a 1944 Life Magazine.

  6. Bookish - that's a good question. How about this Post Office Department decal? It's pretty big, six inches across. Still has the original wax paper on it:

  8. I found it in a math textbook from the 80s, but based on the back of the sticker, I'd say 1960s or 1970s.

  12. Ok, this is the last update for the day, as I'm due home and I'm hungry.

Sorry to say, no love notes in stock. They are probably my favorite, and I try to post them as soon as I find them.

Here's a trade card I found in with the Peterson's Magazine from 1865 I recently talked about on Twitter:

As for lists, this is closest I could come:

Found in "Mrs. Lincoln's Boston Cookbook" from 1891.

Bird-related material? None that I could find. I came across a peacock feather once while sorting, but that was really before I was saving this stuff.
