I love this, it's so fascinating! I've been wanting to ask, what do you do with the items you find, beyond photographing and blogging about them? Have you ever tried to find anyone to give them back to?
Your blog is just so intriguing.

I have given a few things away, like the four leaf clovers, but I generally just store them. I have tried contacting people many times, for the most part, they tell me to keep them.

Great redesign of the blog! I really like this new look.

The word verification I got is "paddilu", but I don't feel like paddling anyone, thanks.

I would love to own something like that.

I bet a women's studies historical collection would really like it too.

This would be from the 1916 Methodist General Conference. The NY Times has an article that mentions Bryan's speech, which was about temperence, women's suffrage, and ending the war. The clipping is here.

How absolutely intriguing to come upon such slivers of others' lives so serendipitously.

I haven't visited for a couple of days and I got a pleasant surprise with the re-design of the page not that I didn't like the other one too . . .

I too have found fascinating bookmarks left in books - no $100 bills yet ;-)

Interesting. She's a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints if she's attending General Conference.

This is historic. What do you eventually do with something like this? Is it saleable, auctionable or just a piece of history for a museum?

If I post an item here, I keep it. In general, if I find postcards, photos, etc... I will just put a few bucks on it and sell it at the store. There have been a few items of note I've given to local historical societies.
