Chicken In The Rough

Photograph, no date or writing on reverse. In the background there's a sign for "Martin's Chicken in the Rough." Before KFC, Burger King or McDonalds, Chicken in the Rough was a well-known franchise restaurant, it's first location in Oklahoma City. The picture above is from "Martin's," which was the Syracuse, NY location.

  1. This restaurant was located in Clay, New York, on Route 11 just outside North Syracuse. I ate at Martin's during "special occasions" - birthday's anniversaries, etc. during the late 1960s before it closed. I believe it may have burned down? Great restaurant with great food!

  2. Loved that place as a kid. Always had their roast turkey dinner.
