Beauty

Found this turn of the century scrapbook while sorting, thought all of you might enjoy it. It's filled with clippings of illustrations of beautiful and famous women of the day.

That is Fabulous! Now, would something like that sell for a lot?

if it were filled with clippings (this one has 10-15 blank pages) and the binding was a bit better, they go four around $80. if there is an especially interesting dress or hat or something in the illustrations, even more.

Do you sell on the internet? It just struck me for some reason.

no, something like this I would just put on the shelf at the store, but if there's some interest I'll do another charity auction

If you do, you'll blog and twitter it, yes? I'll keep watching :D

One of the reasons I love this blog is that it reminds me of my privileged days working at a state historical society. Once, researching an exhibit on children, I came across a scrapbook put together by two girls in the 1880s. They included their drawings of fashionable women (maybe from Godey's Ladies Book), done when they were about six and eight. Oh, my, it was a lesson in the unchanging eye of children across time.
