Altered Beast





An unusual find today. Ten moths, dried and pressed, each individually wrapped in cellophane. If that were not unusual enough, the moths appear to have been altered. If you take a close look at their bodies, a small piece of colored paper has been trimmed to fit and mounted over the original.

Handwritten registry of deaths of the Potts family.

Found in "The Life of our Blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" by the Rev. John Fleetwood. Published by Phillips, Sampson and Co., 1850.

I found this sheet over the weekend, and did my best at some internet sleuthing. After several hours, I was able to find a descendant of the Potts family that lives locally and successfully delivered it back home.
