Friday Giveaway: "Through The Looking Glass" - contest closed

This week's giveaway is just one book, but it's a lovely one. Lewis Carroll's "Through The Looking Glass" published by Altemus, 1897. This volume has the Tenniel illustrations, a few of which are in full color. Sadly, the binding is not the best, but what it lacks in structural integrity it makes up for with charm.

Contest closed, I'll announce a winner in a few minutes.

  14. I love Sir John Tenniel's illustrations for Alice above all others, certainly more than any subsequent animation or film though the 1907 Hepworth and Stow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeIXfdogJbA film is very charming.

  29. One of my childhood favourites ... I have a strong memory of seeing his "JT" symbol in this book's illustrations and for the first time realizing that yes, the pictures in books were drawn by *real* people. I think I must have been about 3 at the time, and had just learned my ABCs ...

  34. Oddly, I had a Lewis Carroll "collected works" book in my hand today, and then decided to purchase a less expensive Oliver Sacks book instead. Maybe my brain knew something I didn't? This one is very cool.
