Christmas in June

Color photo of someone's Christmas morning.

Found in "A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" by James Joyce. Published by Time Life books, 1964.

I was curious to see what kind of stuff they got for Christmas, so I took a more detailed scan of the photo:

From what I can tell, there's a Super Spirograph (awesome) on the floor, a little doll play set, some other games and puzzles, a set of encyclopedias on the shelf, as well as a set of Popular Mechanics Do-It-Yourself guides. Oh, and it looks like someone passed out from all the excitement (to the right of the little girl).

I love it. It's a time capsule in a tiny picture.

I see a container of Lincoln Logs and a box off Cooties. The little one on the floor is probably playing with a little truck or car.I've got my parent's set of those Popular Mechanics books.

The doll house is a Barbie Family House from 1968. I can't see any Barbie dolls in the picture, but they may be there. It's a little fuzzy. As a collector of vintage Barbie paraphernalia I find this picture delightful. Thanks fo posting!
