Thanks, Marie. I got an email from a high school student this morning, he was interesting in becoming a bookmark collector... so I thought I'd post one today.
Do you have any idea where 'the People's Library' is?
Katsenne, The People's Library was a line of affordable editions of popular fiction from the early 1900s. Like today's Dover Thrift editions.
I used to work on 20th St. between 5th Ave and 6th Ave, so the address on this one made me smile. The H O'Neill & Co. building then and now (it's expensive condos now):http://digitalgallery.nypl.org/nypldigital/id?809779http://www.cityrealty.com/nyc/manhattan/the-oneill-building-655-sixth-avenue/30363
Oh, great information. Thanks, Heather!
I have this book! Good to put a date to it. One of my favorite books.
