Be It Ever So Humble

Found this lovely piece of silk embroidery in today's bookperdiem, "The Hearthstone; or, Life at Home. A Household Manual Containing Hints & Help for Home Making; Home Furnishing, Decorations, Amusements, Health Directions, The Sick Room; The Nursery, the Library, the Laundry, etc., Together with A Complete Cookery Book" by Laura C. love your blog!

that looks like hundreds of hours of stitchig work on a beautiful piece of silk, amazing!

oh, and old cookbooks and household manuals always have some priceless advice on everyday life, even centuries later - any chance for a giveaway in that category? :-)

Vee, it was for sale today on bookperdiem.com. It was snatched up pretty quickly.

That book cover is fantastic. They sure don't make 'em like that any more.

Any chance of acquiring the embroidery? I have a friend who loves to embroider and who gave me an embroidered globe of the world! She would love that.
